Summer has come with loud cicada songs!
This is "Abura-zemi", one of the most common kinds of cicada in Tokyo.
Each kind of cicada has its own song.
Here are some cicada songs recorded by me.
* Abura-zemi (which sings "jieeeeeeee...")
* Kuma-zemi (which sings "syowasyowasyowa...")
* Nini-zemi (which sings "nie, nie")
* Higurashi (which sings "kanakana...")
* Minmin-zemi (which sings "Mien min min mien")
* Tsukutsuku-boshi (which sings "tsuku tsuku boshi")

This reminds me of when I spent 2 years in Sarawak. I collected a wing and still had it (30+years later) last time I looked! I love the song, don't like it so much when they land on me though.
Sarawak in Malaysia?
Yes, Tokyo summer is tropical definitely.
I'm happy to hear you love the song, ragwort.
